Religious Vocations: Welcome to those who want more out of life...

Franciscan Spirituality engages persons seeking greater meaning in life and a deeper relationship with God, others, self and all creation by inspiring all to live in awareness of God's presence in creation and the universe...

  • Reverencing, appreciating and protecting Earth's resources as gift
  • Sharing opportunities to further personal growth, relationships and faith
  • Acting with compassion, creativity, hospitality and mutuality
  • Creating a climate, both on and off site, of innovative approaches to healing, teaching and praying
  • Creating partnerships that promote common endeavors
  • Healing the wounds of Christ...as manifest in all of  God's Creation
  • Witnessing to the spirit of the Gospels as lived by Francis and Clare of Assisi by offering service to the poor within the context of a consecrated life.
  • A religious vocation to the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor calls people to consecrate their lives to service of the poor and marginalized worldwide with offices in New York and Ohio

Religious Vocations:

We seek to become...

In peace and simplicity, we seek to become living signs of the healing presence of Jesus to those who are in need.  Discernment of ministries and participation in specific ministries is guided by the understanding of our healing charism, our vowed life and our interdependence with all creation.  We take into consideration the promotion of social justice and peace, improving the lives of persons living in poverty, creating healing opportunities that are wholistic and care for the earth.  We believe that any person in need is poor, and that the spiritual poverty of alienation from God, self and the human community is the deepest form of poverty.
